The new Canadian Armed Forces physiotherapy clinic opened on November 14 at the National Defence Headquarters (NDHQ) (Carling) in Ottawa.
The clinic was built to meet the needs of the growing military population at NDHQ (Carling). It has three physiotherapists at this time, and this could be increased to six as the military population increases at the new headquarters site. The clinic is open Monday to Friday from 7:30 am to 3:30 pm.
The location of the clinic at NDHQ (Carling) and its accessibility are the keys to success. The clinic is located close to the gym so it can accommodate the Military Sport-Physical Training model, with the goal of ensuring CAF members remain at the highest deployable and military operational level anytime, anywhere. The clinic’s gym location not only facilitates communication with Personnel Support Programs staff, but also allows for a paradigm shift in the rehabilitation of our military members: Exercise is medicine!
