Are you between the age of 12 and 16? Are you looking to grow your leadership abilities? Are you interested in practicing your French skills or checking French out as a new language in a fun and relaxed environment? The Military Family Resource Centre of the National Capital Region has a fantastic summer camp opportunity for you.
For the first time ever the MFRC-NCR is hosting a youth camp in partnership the YMCA Cedar Glen with Camp Tournesol. From June 8 to 10, a group of military family youth will be travelling together from the Uplands Base to Schomberg, Ontario to experience the great outdoors.
“We are excited and proud to bring the youth in our community together in this true camp experience!” Taylor Galloway, Family Engagement Supervisor.
This camp experience is a wonderful opportunity for youth to connect with new friends and expand on their leadership skills, with the bonus of doing it all in French (all levels welcome)! Participants will get a chance to practice their survival skills, canoe, build bonfires, challenge themselves with archery, and balance their way across the high ropes. This amazing opportunity only costs $40! All meals and snacks will be provided, and transportation will be provided by Canadian Forces Support Unit (Ottawa).
Space is limited, so don’t miss out on claiming your spot on the bus to this wicked weekend getaway. Parents can register their youth online.
