CFSU(O) Command Team Holiday Message

Happy December to all. This is the last edition of the Guard features before the holidays and CWO Dubuc and I wish to end the year on a merry and healthy note. To that end, the PSP Ottawa Health Promotion team wrote an article to provide you with some quick and easy tips on how to enjoy a healthy holiday season and focus on self-care and quality time with family and friends. We encourage you to reach out to them as well as their Sports and Fitness colleagues in the new year to learn more about the services they offer all across the area.

The past two weeks were filled with several activities and holiday festivities within the NCR Defence Team. Our traditional “At Home” event was held on 5 December at the NDHQ WOs’ and Sgts’ / Cs’ & POs’ Mess and the Mess Annex at NDHQ (Carling). The Annual Junior Ranks Christmas Dinner will then be hosted this 14 December by the CRPTC. Additionally, the NDWCC has been wrapping its busy autumn with Christmas markets, online auctions, spin-o-thons, and other fundraising events.

This week we are thrilled to be hosting Holidays with the Central Band at the Meridian Theatres at Centrepointe. The Central Band will once again provide an outstanding evening of music with guest vocalist Patsy Gallant enchanting the crowd with her upbeat, disco-inspired flair.

CWO Dubuc and I hope everyone has a holly, jolly holiday season and enjoys a well-deserved break. 2018 has been particularly busy and we recognize the hard work and dedication you have demonstrated. Come back rested, ready to embrace the opportunities and face the challenges of the new year. We would also like to recognize those who are serving away from home who cannot be here with their families during the holidays. We wish all of you, your families and loved ones, Happy Holidays and a New Year filled with joy, health and prosperity.

The MFRC-NCR is hosting many events in support of our community members. Whether you are missing your deployed loved one, are posted far from family for the first time, or simply want to start a new tradition, there is something for everyone. [insert link].
