On Thursday, 30 May, 2019 the Military Spousal Employment Network will be hosting a career fair in Ottawa, Ontario, open to military and veteran spouses as well as the Canadian Armed Forces community.
“There is a lot of talent in our community,” says Katie Ochin, Employment and Entrepreneurship Program Manager, Military Family Services. “Increasing connections between military spouses and dedicated employers is at the heart of the Military Spousal Employment Network.”
This career event is being held at the Ottawa Conference and Event Centre from 1300-1600hrs. The afternoon will kick off with a tailored career training session for interested military spouses. Job seekers are invited to network with employers, ask questions and apply for local employment opportunities.
A sample of the participating employers includes Bank of Montreal, Bayshore Medical Personnel, Canadian Forces Morale and Welfare Services, Department of National Defence, GardaWorld, LRDG and the Military Family Resource Centre-National Capital Region.
This event is hosted by the Military Spousal Employment Network, which has seen steady growth since it launched in the fall of 2018 with currently more than 1,500 users connecting with 16 national employers. The Network is a self-directed online resource with access to job postings, tools, resources, and events such as training sessions and virtual and in-person career fairs.
