Defence Team members in the National Capital Region (NCR) are invited to attend an event highlighting Bell Let’s Talk Day. The event will take place on Wednesday, January 30, 2019 from 1000 hrs to 1100 hrs in the atrium of Building 6 (6C.1.E08.C01) at NDHQ (Carling).
The “Bell Let’s Talk: Let’s start the conversation” event in the NCR aims to raise awareness of mental health and help reduce the stigma associated with mental illness. It is an opportunity to learn about the resources available to improve well-being and build and sustain a psychologically healthy and safe workplace. This event will feature a guest speaker who will share her story about her personal resilience and the various resources she used to help both her family and herself get through this difficult time.
During this event, employees will be invited to participate in an informal arm chair discussion highlighting the mental health of all Defence Team members, featuring Mental Health Co-Champions Deputy Minister, Jody Thomas and Vice Chief of Defence Staff, Lieutenant-General Paul Wynnyk, as well as Surgeon General, Brigadier-General Downes.
Kiosks offering important information on civilian and military mental health support services will also be on site.
All military and civilian members of the Defence Team are welcome.
