Fat Biking to Snow-where at Hylands

By Michael McCarthy, PSP Ottawa –

With the holidays now in the rear-view mirror, the NCR and its members find themselves in the depths of winter.  This time of the year can be a little challenging when it comes to accessing fun and practical outdoor activities.

Thankfully, NCR-based CAF members and their families can benefit from some fantastic options right in our backyard, at the Hylands Golf Club. Completely free for serving military members, the club’s winter activities include enjoying the splendor of this scenic championship golf course on groomed trails for skating and classic cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, or their brand new fleet of Fat Bikes!

New for 2019, Hylands has added Fat Biking to their programming. They have a fleet of bikes available for use and have modified the 8km of trails so you can use them on the property! The Fat Bikes can also be signed out for local use, exploring the roads around the club and area.

Come and explore the beauty of Hylands Golf Club. With hundreds of acres of beautiful property, this is a great way to enjoy nature and wildlife. We ask that you please stay close to the tree lines as the use of equipment is not permitted over tees, greens, bunkers, etc.
