Hylands Golf Club Ready to Host 18th Annual CFSU(O) Command Team’s Golf Tournament

By Rafael Baffini, PSP Ottawa –

It’s that time of the year when golfers of all levels in the NCR have the chance to register for the annual CFSU(O) Command Team’s Golf Tournament. This event is a great opportunity to play at Hylands Golf Club, a first-class golf venue in Ottawa, for an affordable fee and to have fun with your community.

This event appeals to beginners and non-members of Hylands, as well as dedicated golfers, and according to the club manager Matt Clitheroe, the tournament always attracts new members. “It’s an excellent way to try out the Hylands facilities while getting a great value for your fee. Despite the rough winter, the grass is back to pristine conditions and ready for the competitors”, said Mr. Clitheroe.

Clitheroe also highlights that the tournament is a very enjoyable experience for players of all levels. “Everyone is welcome to join the competition. The foursomes need a minimum of one experienced golfer. As we play best ball – 4-player scramble, even beginners have the chance to win with their teams.”

The competitors can expect to win more than pride and glory. Thanks to the event sponsors BMO, Commissionaires, Mortgage Forces, Via Rail, and West Jet, there will be prizes valued at over $5,000 total.

This will be the second tournament hosted by Colonel Angela Banville but the first one for Chief Warrant Officer Éric Bouffard. “I want to thank everyone who’s signing up to come golf with us,” mentioned CWO Bouffard. “By supporting our tournament you support our members, which means a lot to the Commandant and I. Our CFSU(O) personnel work tirelessly to provide programs and services to 24,000 members of the Defence Team in the NCR, and this is a great token of appreciation.”

Registration includes tee gift, 18-hole round, golf cart, BBQ lunch, and breakfast for a cost of $80. Players can register their teams online and get further information about the tournament.
