Planes, trains and Light Armoured Vehicles

By Catherine Villeneuve, The Guard –

Family Appreciation Days will see its largest entertainment programming offered this year as the organizing committee is adding new features to the Canadian Forces Support Unit (Ottawa)’s signature event.

Members of the National Capital Region Defence Community will be able to enjoy the brand-new PSP sports field and become a hero at soccer, archery tag, zorb racing, golf and ultimate Frisbee.

This year children will also have the opportunity to hop in the Ferris wheel, on top of all the other midway rides, as well as make their way through the superhero-in-training obstacle course.

Older kids will be thrilled to hear that the organizers are bringing the Games to Go mobile arcade theater to the site for some exciting video gaming.

And the entire family will enjoy rocking to karaoke on Friday and Rotorhead performance on Saturday.

As Co-chair Lieutenant-Colonel Martin Gagné explained, “This is all offered for free to families in addition of the crowd-favourite LAV rides, military displays and club expos, bouncy castles and climbing walls, Saturday night movie feature and much more.”

In the words of Entertainment Sponsor Cummins Eastern Canada, “Thank you CAF members and families – please enjoy this year’s activities.”
