Join the Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry (PPCLI) and the Royal 22e Régiment (R22eR) as they face off for the seventh annual Imjin Hockey Classic at TD Place Arena, Lansdowne Park on Saturday, 26 October, 2019 at 3 p.m.
Last year’s game saw the R22eR, better known as the Van Doos, beat the PPCLI, better known as the Patricia’s, by a score of 3-2.
The original game was played in 1952, during the Korean War, when the PPCLI played the Royal 22e in the 25th Canadian Infantry Brigade hockey championship game on the frozen Imjin River.
The Imjin Hockey Classic honours the esprit de corps Canadian troops shared with their Korean allies over 60 years ago, and continue to share today. The Imjin Hockey Classic is presented by the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Canada and the Canadian Army. Gates open at 1:30 p.m. with demonstrations of Korean culture at 2 p.m. Admission is free.
