On Wednesday, 27 March, 2019 CFSU(O) hosted another in a series of Information Fairs at NDHQ (Pearkes). Nearly 3,000 members of the Defence Team have already moved to the new NDHQ (Carling), and Phase II is scheduled to start in April 2019 with 5,000 members estimated to move.

These fairs aim to provide DND and CAF personnel with updates from various organizations and partners to ensure a smooth and efficient transition to the new facility.

A member of the Defence Workplace Transformation Tiger Team (DWTTT), Anna-Maria Salvetti, found the fair to be informative, especially for new employees.

“It was very motivating because it shows a light, collaborative place where different working styles were represented. There was a visual presentation of how the space was organized, the different types of working stations etc. There was something for everyone.”

She also noted that the fair focused on commuting options for all personnel from all different parts in the NCR.

“The [NDHQ (Carling) Information] Fair presented information about practical topics such as transportation options, including the LRT, different OC Transpo routes available, and cycling maps. I commute from Aylmer in Gatineau, and now I know there are different options available to me.”

Kiosks that took part included:

In addition to the NDHQ (Carling) Phase II Information Fair, CFSU(O) has also organized a series of Information Sessions to address the changes brought by the new NDHQ(Carling) Parking Policy.

CFSU(O) plans to host more Information Fairs in the future, with details shared as they become available. Directorates or projects interested in participating in the next NDHQ(Carling) Phase II Information Fair may contact the NDHQ (Carling) Transformation Team.
